With so many different motorcycle models on the market, it’s easy to get confused or mistake one model for another. What’s the difference between a standard and a cruiser? What’s a trike and how is it different from a touring motorcycle? To help you answer all of these questions, and figure out which of the many models on the market may be the right pick for you, we've written up the helpful article below!

Best for City Streets

If you don't plan on traveling further than the next town over with your motorcycle, you have your choice of cruisers, standards, and sports models. Sports models are perfect for riders who are looking to add a bit of thrill to their lives. These models are some of the fastest on the market and are well-known for their impressive performance and agility.

On the other hand, if you’re more interested in leisurely rides that last all day, a cruiser may be the better choice. These flashy models are unexpectedly comfortable with their low seats and extra stability, making them perfect for day trips around town. Unfortunately, these models can also be quite heavy, and not everyone enjoys their vintage style. If this is the case for you, you may prefer a standard motorcycle’s more simplistic look and easy handling.

Perfect for Road Trips

Currently, only two motorcycle models on the market are designed to handle extremely long-distance rides. Both touring motorcycles and trikes offer impressive stability, comfort, and unique features that allow you to travel for miles without stopping. However, if you’d like a long-distance vehicle that can still be used for longer commutes, a trike may be the better choice. The handy third wheel makes them easier to navigate through narrow streets and tight corners, and they are still moderately fuel efficient in city traffic.
